So, It Shatters:

So, today it fell.
It slipped right from
My grasp.

As it fell,
It shattered on the floor
Like glass.

The shards sliced,
And as they spread
I gasped.

So, I bled today.
My heart was ripped
Right from my chest.

As I bled,
I told myself it was for
The best.

The blood pooled,
And I looked at it,
But still I couldn't rest.

So, I smiled today.
It spread across my lips when
I wasn't thinking about you.

As it faded,
My heart ached and stomach cramped,
But I knew

That before today
We were friends,
And I could trust you.

So, after today
I leave with a sad smile
Still here.

As a friend,
Something so special about me,
I'll always care.

Though I wish
That somedays I wouldn't because I can't
Always bare

The pain.

But here I stay
For you. As a friend,
As guidence.

Even though you
Broke me. I told you
It's okay.

But I still feel it-
The empty space
Inside me.

Air is filling it,
Because my heart lies shattered
On the floor.
